Students Projects

EECS encourages and supports students in international exchanges, including semester (course) exchanges, joint training programs (3+2), short-term scientific research, participation in academic conferences abroad, and participation in various foreign competitions.

Table below shows the statistics of EECS students attending various international exchanges in the past 5 years. We can see that the number of students to participate in various international exchanges increased steadily year after year. In 2016, the number reached nearly 200, which means nearly 2/3 of EECS students have the opportunity to participate in an international exchange activity in four years.

Semester/Course Communication

Peking University and EECS signed both university-level and school-level communication protocols with the United States, Britain, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and many other famous overseas universities. Students can participate in such exchange projects for half a year in junior year. The main content of the exchange is taking classes, and the courses can be transferred to the corresponding specialized courses after being approved by the basic department of undergraduate teaching.

Bachelor-Master Joint Training Project (3+2)

Since 2010, the school has signed a Bachelor-Master joint training (3+2) project agreement with the University of California at Los Angeles, Cornell University and University of Edinburgh in UK. Excellent students who want to participate in the project complete require finishing credits in the first 3 years at Peking University, and then in senior year, can go to study for 2 years in another university who also signed the project, and start the study period of master ahead of time. Students can obtain both bachelor degree in Peking University and a master's degree in the other school in only 5 years.

Short-term Research Communication

University and school signed summer-research-internship agreement with Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, University of Edinburgh and other famous American universities. In the second or third summer, outstanding undergraduates can be sent for internship exchange.

Attending Foreign Academic Conferences

The school has established an academic exchange grant to provide full funding for undergraduate who publish papers as first-author in first class academic conferences (CCF or A-class conferences).

All Kinds of Foreign Competitions

We support students to go abroad to participate in activities like the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, the international student competitions on super computation, international collegiate competitions on algorithm and programming organized by various kinds of conferences, and international collegiate innovation and entrepreneurship competition. Some excellent students can get full funding.
